What it really costs over time
Clarcut Pro is a one-time purchase: $44 with one year of updates. After that, updates are optional at $21 a year; if you skip them, your version keeps working forever with its features.
Over three years, that’s $44 if you never renew, or $44 + 2 × $21 if you keep every update. Most screen-recording tools with automatic zooms are sold as subscriptions instead: our comparison pages list their public prices as of November 2026.
Clarcut Plus is only for hosting videos online (share links, viewer page, transcript, white label on your own domain). Cancel any time: clarcut.com links stay readable for 30 days, then the videos are deleted; a custom domain pauses right away and comes back when you resubscribe.
Billing questions
Is there a subscription?
No subscription is required. Clarcut Pro is paid once ($44). The only subscriptions are optional: yearly update renewal after the first year, and Clarcut Plus for online share links.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If Clarcut Pro doesn’t suit you, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of purchase by writing to contact@clarcut.com.
How many computers can I use Clarcut Pro on?
Up to 3 computers, Windows or Mac, with the same license. When you change computers, you unlink an old one from your account page (once every 3 months).
What happens when my year of updates ends?
Nothing breaks: Clarcut Pro keeps working with all its features. You simply stop receiving new versions, unless you renew updates for $21 a year.
Do I need Clarcut Pro to use Clarcut Plus?
No. Clarcut Plus works with or without Clarcut Pro. You can share videos made with the free version.
Do you charge VAT?
Beva Studio is not subject to VAT (article 293 B of the French Tax Code), so prices are final. Businesses can add their company name and VAT number at checkout; every payment comes with an invoice.
Is there a discount if I’m switching from another tool?
Yes: the code TCHAO15 gives 15% off Clarcut Pro at checkout if you’re coming from Screen Studio, FocuSee, Camtasia or another recorder.
